G30 is a memory maze puzzler where you traverse a number of rotation-based levels. You need to turn the wheels in order to create a complete picture, while there are a few things that give it an extra dimension. Though G30 appears pretty simple. You rotate dials to calibrate several overlapping shapes, until it matches the title of the level. Over time more complex interactions appear, as some dials automatically start moving others, furthermore you’ll have to utilise markers in order to activate particular dials. But along with all the shape-shifting, G30 is a game about words and memories. This is represented in the game world by the images you manipulate, adding also words and phrases appearing above the puzzle, and that’s all part of the puzzle.
The game will put you to play as an unnamed person with a cognitive disorder and you must piece together the full story while exceeding levels. Besides from just creating pictures, you’ll need to uncover the hidden story behind. You’ll be able to figure out the plot yourself as you go through the puzzles and click on the highlighted words which start merging into a greater text and eventually creating a meaningful story altogether. The further you get into the game, the more variety you’ll see.
G30 – A Memory Maze is a unique and minimalistic take on the puzzle genre, where each level is hand-drawn and significant. A two-part puzzle in which one is a visual image of the memory and the other a long sighted text, which reveals itself after every step. The closer you are to the solution the more text will be unfolded. If you’re not moving in the right direction the story would drift away from the truth. The game has a delightful relaxing gameplay with warm music that will make you dive into the compelling story even more. No scores, no timers, no “game over”.
