Feist by Last Chance Media, LLC is a multi-award winning and beautifully hand-drawn action game. It follows the story of a fragile little fur creature with its desperate attempt to rescue its mate from the clutches of a pack of evil-minded predators. The journey through the mysterious forest soon becomes a savage and merciless fight of survival as everything in this deadly environment will intend to eat you. In Feist you are dropped into a mysterious world without too much of explanation. Your job will be to make it through the levels without being smashed up, whacked or collared. While running you can use the environment to your advantage, like jumping between thin branches or like hiding under mushrooms to avoid any attacks. You can as well use trip wires and traps in your favor. Actually mastering this will be trickier than expected while some enemies may be also harder to kill than others.
Feist displays lovely audiovisuals and simple controls. Like many other runner games, you’re running to the right while everything is wanting to kill you. You’re not really jumping platforms and that makes it a non-typical platformer game. You must jump over obstacles, enemies and solve puzzles instead in order to progress. The graphics deliver a striking visual style, which really gives the game a sense of depth and quality. Everything is fully detailed in order to form an enjoyable dynamic gameplay. The rich and glaring world full of strange beasts heightens a gorgeous natural environment with an enchanting spooky atmosphere. The run for survival has never been so exciting before. The AI enemies are designed with surprising emergent interactions and a set of various versatile abilities. Feist isn’t just for everyone. If you’re looking for another thoughtful puzzler this certainly doesn’t fit. This game will be great if you love to push yourself and enjoy hard survival games, but for more casual gamers you’ll most likely get frustrated. As the game progresses, battles get harder to fight and you might find yourself more hopeless. It’s not so much the difficulty of its enemies that makes the game challenging, but rather the frequency in which they’re thrown at you.
