Reigns: Game of Thrones is the legitimate heir to the award-winning HBO TV series ‘Game of Thrones’. This game offers just as much adventure and intrigue as the TV series. Reigns: Game of Thrones is a mobile game which puts you in charge of the Seven Kingdoms and discover just how well you’d rule in Westeros. Reigns: GOT can be played pretty easily while it’s brilliant in its simplicity of how it uses controls where you just have to swipe left or right in order to make the decisions. The aim of Reigns: GOT is to survive as much (moons) as possible by making choices that will keep your kingdom standing: Religion, Armed Forces, Wealth and Popularity. You have to ensure that none of these four factors gets either too much or less than enough, because you would be your end. Balancing these four attributes it’s in itself an act of fun and challenge, as long as you’ll learn what effect your decisions will have. You’ll also get to rule the Seven Kingdoms as different characters, which on the other hand has an effect on how you play. You may become an honourable ruler as Jon Snow but as Cersei you may totally fail. There are nine different characters you can play as including Tyrion, Sansa and Daenerys. The game can become a bit frustrating, especially in the early missions, due to it seems that no matter what decisions you’ll make, the White Walkers will still eventually come and freeze you to death regardless. As Cersei said: “when you play the game of thrones you win or you die”.
The basic premise of the game has you being a king who has to balance four different attributes: the army, the church, the people, and the bank. If any of these four meters runs out or fills up completely, your reign is over and a new king will take the throne. Reigns: Game of Thrones is made in conjunction with HBO and promises to satisfy fans of both the games and television series. The game takes place in the current season, so there are some characters missing who you may knew before. But that’s something that you should really expect from GOT, as many of the main characters in the series have been killed and vanished very unexpectedly. So, a wise thing to do is not to get too attached to any of the characters due to they’ll may die horribly sooner or later. But even if you haven’t watched any of the TV series at all, there’s still plenty of fun involved. Instead of just playing as king or queen, you get to choose from multiple rulers. You start out with Daenerys and you’ll be later able to unlock Tyrion, Jon Snow, Cersei and others through play with. The characters share some cards and events, but each of them has its own individual card and events that are unique to them. You may need to play as a specific ruler to meet one of the other rulers, or just to achieve a certain objective or death. Playing with one ruler can as well give you a clue that will help with another.
Another thing you need to know regarding Reigns: GOT is the ability to travel to different locations. Each ruler starts in his own kingdom, but they can also often visit each other. Some rulers can even start battles with other kingdoms. In these occasions you’ll need to decide with which part of your army to make the attack with or with what to counter-response. You may even have a dragon at your disposal, but it’s up to you to decide the best time to utilize it. There will generally be a continuous trial and error involved in these parts of the game, but there’s also logic. The game basically insists to craft your ability of making tough decisions.
The only strange misinformation of the game is the confusing timeline compared to the movie, as some events will seem to be out of order at times, as well as the death by the White Walkers which seems inevitable too many times. Although the player’s biggest concern is to maintain the balance of the kingdom in order to survive the coming winter. Rely on the following video walkthroughs in order to succed in this game and resist many winters to come:
